Baron Geisler

Baron Geisler remains nonchalant when it comes to the public's stigma on mental health.

“It's better to understand than to be understood,” penned Baron Geisler after a fan criticized netizens who don't practice what they preach when it comes to mental health.

“People be posting about mental health awareness but make fun of Baron Geisler and Kanye West in the midst of their breakdown,” the fan wrote.

Baron, who dealt with bipolar disorder and depression in 2012, admitted that it might take a while to destigmatize mental illness.

“It's ok. It will take a while for them to be fully aware and be educated about mental health,” he said.

“The stigma is still there and 2018 pa lang na-approve 'yung bill. It's better to understand than to be understood. #DepressionIsReal.”

According to news reports and interviews, Baron first experienced depression in 2002 after his father passed away.

After shunning away from drugs and public outbursts, the actor is now preaching the Christian Gospel and using his voice to raise awareness of mental health.

Baron is now happily married to Jamie Evangelista, a psychologist whom he met inside a rehabilitation center for his past drug addiction. They have one child whom they named Talitha Cumi.

8 and feeling great! Thank you, Lord for the gift of family! 😊😇❤
