Pia Wurtzbach reminds the public to do what's good for everyone's mental health.

As a staunch mental health advocate, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach tells her followers not to be ashamed in dealing with feeling dispirited or uninspired as it happens to everyone and there's always a way out.

In an Instagram post, the Pinay beauty queen shared about a "big speech" she's preparing which contained topics that hit close to home.

"It's really personal and some of the topics I shared triggered some memories/ emotions that I kept inside for too long," she said.

"You guys know naman my childhood/young adult years were quite challenging. I'm happy I pushed through and I'll share it with you guys very soon. But yes it did put me in a bad place for a few days."

For Pia, going back to the past "still stings," even for someone like her who seemed to have her life all worked out, could still go through a "mental health journey."

Hence, she encouraged everyone to feel good about not feeling good.

"And I guess I'm writing this, not to make paawa or ask for sympathy but cos I'm okay naman. But to remind you that IT'S OKAY to be down sometimes. And it's okay to talk about it openly."

She capped her message with an gentle reminder to "do what's good for your mental health."

As part of her advocacy, the 32-year-old beauty queen has been working on a mental health awareness project called "Holding Spaces: Voices of Hope." It's a seven-episode project featuring different guests who openly talk about mental health issues.

The episodes are uploaded on her YouTube channel.

As a former Miss Universe, she focused on her advocacy on HIV awareness which she talked about in her winning answer.
