Beyond the screen, Rocco has proven himself as a skilled martial artist in real life. He recently attained remarkable success at the 2024 Pan Asian Gi and No Gi International Open, securing prestigious medals.
In the Adult Jiu-Jitsu category, Rocco participated in two matches, earning himself a gold and a bronze medal. The Kapuso celebrity shared his triumph with photos and videos from the competition on Instagram.
In the caption, Rocco expressed his thrill at challenging himself in a competitive environment.
Glad I was able to push myself to experience the competition jitters again, because damn it is addicting. I'd do this again, especially competing in the open weight division."
He also shared his pride in overcoming the challenge of facing a formidable opponent during the event.
"Friends and teammates said don't even try it after seeing my giant opponent, I said why not. I left the event yesterday feeling proud of myself for taking on this challenge for the year."
Rocco then thanked his wife Melissa Gohing and their son Ezren for their unwavering encouragement during the tournament, emphasizing their important role in his success.
"Thank you my top cheerers Melissa Gohing and Ezren Raffaello Nacino for all the shouting! 'Yan ang nagpalakas sakin talaga."
In the end, Rocco hinted at his intention to pursue further competitions with the words, "On to the next one!"
