The Philippine Olympic Committee has announced that the 2021 Hanoi Southeast Asian Games originally scheduled to happen from November 21 to December 2 will be postponed until early 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the preparation of the Philippine national team doesn't stop. In fact, the Philippine men's national volleyball team continues to train under head coach Dante Alinsunurin.

Kapuso hothlete John Vic de Guzman has also been asked to reprise his role as the skipper of the national team, after the team's historic run at the 2019 Manila SEA Games.
