It seems like after our very own Margielyn Didal became an instant celebrity in Brazil, a new athlete has stolen the spotlight during the Tokyo Olympics, and it's none other than Great Britain's Thomas Robert Daley or simply, Tom Daley.
And while many athletes make headlines for winning Olympic medals or showing unparalleled sportsmanship, Tom has gained unexpected fame that is actually not related to diving.
The British gold medalist diver has become the internet's new superstar because of his hobby that he pursues while watching other games at the Olympics: knitting!
In an Instagram video on his page dedicated to his creations, Tom said that it's his love for knitting and crocheting that has gotten him through the pandemic.
“The one thing that has like kept me sane throughout this whole process is my love for knitting and crochet and all things stitching.
“So, I want to say thank you to all my followers on here for actually following along.”
