The Japanese horror film franching 'Ju-On' or 'The Grudge' will have a TV adaptation on Netflix called 'Ju-On: Origins'
Popular horror movie series Ju-On or The Grudge, is having a television adaptation through Ju-On: Origins to be shown on Netflix.
The J-horror series will star Yoshiyoshi Arakawa, Yuina Kuroshima, and Ririka.
The Ju-On franchise was created by Takashi Shimizu through two short films in 1998.
Ju-On: The Curse is a feature film released in 2000 followed by a sequel called Ju-On: The Grudge 2 shown in 2003.
An American adaptation called The Grudge was also released in 2004, followed by a sequel called The Grudge 2 released in 2006.
In January 2020, a reboot of the American adaptation was released under the same title.
Ju-On: Origins' trailer has also been unveiled. Netflix's description for the series goes, "The J-Horror classic franchise Ju-On was actually based on real events that occurred over four decades - and the truth is even more terrifying. Can the people haunted by this house escape from its curse? And what kind of grim incident occurred in this cursed house in the past?”
Ju-On: Origins will be streaming on Netflix starting July 3.
