Since the latest edition of Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival only features short films because of the COVID-19 pandemic, take a trip down memory lane and watch these classic full-length films that once competed in the film festival.

Jane (Hasmine Kilip) and Aries (Ronwaldo Martin) are teenage parents who make a living by stealing on the streets. Unfortunately, karma hit them back when Jane lost their baby to someone she didn't know. Chaos ensues while they are finding their months-old child.
Pamilya Ordinaryo won Best Film, Best Direction for Eduardo Roy Jr., Best Actress for Hasmine Kilip, Best Editing, and Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) Awards at the 12th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
It also bagged awards at the 2016 Tokyo Filmex, 2016 Hanoi International Film Festival, 2016 Five Flavours Asian Film Festival, 2016 Asia Pacific Screen Awards, 2017 Star Awards for Movies, 2017 Gawad Urian Awards, and 35th Luna Awards.

instant Mommy tells the story of Bechayda (Eugene Domingo), a wardrobe assistant for TV commercials, embarks on a plan that will stop her Japanese lover, Kaoru (Yuki Matsuzaki), from leaving her.
The film was under the direction of Leo Abaya and competed at the 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Babagwa won the Best Supporting Actor award for Joey Paras at the 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

Sister Remy (Mylene Dizon), an extern nun of the Adoration monastery in Rizal province, found that her activist brother is missing. She asks Mother Superior Ruth (Fides Cuyugan-Asensio) for an indefinite leave of absence to find him but is turned down. Despite this, Sister Remy and newcomer Sister Lourdes (Jodi Sta. Maria) star attending meetings of families with missing relatives.
Aparisyon won the Best Sound award at the 8th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, Audience Award at the 15th Deauville Asian Film Festival, and NETPAC award at the 2012 Hawai'i International Film Festival.

Patikul tells the story of its supportive principal (Marvin Agustin) and teachers of Kan-Ague Elementary School in Patikul, Sulu, who are determined to grab the top prize in the regional quiz bee tournament. However, they get caught in the middle of hostilities between the government and the terrorists.
Patikul won the Audience Award, Best Supporting Actor for Jim Pebanco, and National Council for Children's Television Award at the 7th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
It was also awarded at the 2012 Golden Screen Awards and 2012 PMPC Star Awards for Movies.

At the 2015 FAMAS Award, Gabby Eigenmann, the village chief, won the Best Supporting Actor while Miggs Cuaderno took home the Best Child Performer trophy. Migs would also be awarded Movie Child Performer of the Year at the Star Awards for Movies.
At the 2015 WorldFest Houston, Asintado director Louie Ignacio has been honored with a Gold Award for Family/Children category while Jake has been awarded a Gold Remi Award as a Rising Star - Actor.
