Joyce was supposed to attend a plain exotic food-tasting and advanced Chinese New Year event. But there was much more in store for her.   



What was supposed to be an exotic food-tasting and advanced Chinese New Year celebration turned out to be a pleasant birthday surprise for Kapuso actress Joyce Ching.

Select members of the press gathered at the City Best Seafood Restaurant on January 21 to participate in an exotic food-tasting event with Joyce Ching. The program was hosted by new Kapuso talent, Stephanie Sol.

The members of the press were divided into three groups. Each group was asked to taste a secret exotic dish along with Joyce. The three secret dishes turned out to be pigeon, turtle and eel.

After the program, the press interviewed Joyce about her unique culinary experience.
Joyce shared, “Natutuwa po ako kasi ito ‘yung first time na kumain ako ng exotic food galing sa isang restaurant. Sa amin kasi sa province, ‘yung lola ko nagluluto siya ng salagubang, palaka, mga ganun.”

She also mentioned that her favorite among the three delicacies was the turtle dish.
In the middle of the interview, there was a loud knock on the door.

Joyce was surprised and moved to tears when her Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw leading man, Phytos Ramirez entered and gave her a bouquet of flowers. Her good friend and Anna KareNina co-star, Krystal Reyes, also graced the event. Of course, members of Joyce’s fan club came to show their support.

Joyce, who celebrated her birthday last January 5, did not expect the event to be a birthday celebration for her. She said, “Nagulat talaga ako na dumating sina Phytos at si Krystal na taga-Bulacan pa. ‘Yung best friend ko nung high school nandito rin, so masaya ako.”

When asked what her birthday wish was, she stated, “Sana mas maging maganda pa ‘yung takbo ng career ko.”

For her part, Krystal Reyes said, “Ang wish ko sa kanya ay sana huwag siyang magbago. Si Joyce kasi sobrang matatag na tao. Joyce Ching na iyan at malayo pa ang mararating niyan. Lagi lang akong nandito para sa kanya.”

Phytos Ramirez gave this message for Joyce: “Happy birthday, Joyce! Sana [magkaroon ka ng] more blessings. Sana magwork din ‘yung love team natin.”
