Michelle Dee

Michelle Dee included her fellow Miss Universe Philippines contestants in her 'lifelong advocacy.'

Miss Universe Philippines Tourism and current contestant in the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant Michelle Dee continues to advocate for her “lifelong mission” in raising awareness for autism by participating in one of the flagship activities for autism in the country.

On her Instagram account, Michelle posted several photos and a couple of videos of her at Autism Society Philippines' Angels Walk, an annual activity where people with autism and their friends and family walk to raise awareness. Even better, this time around Michelle Dee walked alongside her fellow Miss Universe Philippines contestants. The Autism Society Philippines is “a national non-profit dedicated to the well-being of Filipinos who live on the autism spectrum and those who care for them.”

In the caption to the post, Michelle wrote that walking alongside her older brother on the spectrum and with her fellow Miss Universe contestants was a fulfilling day and a reminder of why she continues to do what she does.

This is far from being the first time that Michelle shared her autism advocacy. Back in January, Michelle posted a video announcing the resumption of the annual Angel's Walk organized by the Autism Society Philippines. The live version of the walk had to be postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, and this year marks the resumption of malls around the country.

Michelle first revealed her two siblings with autism, Mazen Marquez and Adam Lawyer, back in 2019. It was also back then that she called her autism advocacy a “lifelong mission.”

Autism awareness is not the only advocacy that Michelle supports. During Pride Month last year, Michelle posted photos of her wearing a special edition T-shirt by the brand COS, who donated 100 percent of the profits to specific LGBTQIA+ organizations.
