Celeste Cortesi will be part of the panel determining who will wear the Miss Universe Egypt crown.
Former Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi may no longer be competing in pageants, but the beauty queen and Sparkle artist's influence in the scene can still be felt with her latest assignment.
Celeste was recently named as a part of the Miss Universe Egypt selection committee in a post on the Miss Universe Egypt Instagram account and on her personal Instagram account as well. In the caption to the post, Celeste was described as the “pride and the forever queen of the Philippines” as well as a “celestial beauty with unparalleled charm and grace.”
This isn't the first time that Celeste has been invited to be part of the selection committee of a pageant within the Miss Universe system. Last month, Celeste was part of the judges for Miss Universe Thailand 2023. On her Instagram account, Celeste shared photos of her in an intricate Rian Fernandez gown as well as with Miss Universe Thailand 2021 Anchilee Skott-Kemmis, who was also a judge.
Celeste also isn't the only Kapuso artist to have been asked to be part of a selection committee. Back in 2021, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera was part of the Miss Universe 2021 judging panel. At the press conference held for the announcement, Marian shared that the chance to become part of the Miss Universe selection committee was something she could not refuse.
“Minsan lang ito dumating at bakit hindi ko tatanggapin? Mahirap iwan ang mga anak ko pero naniniwala ako na balang araw ay maiintindihan nila kung gaano ka-importante ito,” she said.
The 2023 Miss Universe pageant will be held in Ecuador on November 18, with Kapuso star Michelle Dee representing the country.
Just a couple of weeks ago, the Miss Universe Philippines organization shared a video of Michelle's pasarela describing it as “fierce pasarela training” that will help Michelle “conquer the Miss Universe stage.”
