Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has arrived in El Salvador for the 2023 Miss Universe coronation ceremonies where she will take on the role as backstage correspondent.

Upon her arrival, Catriona posted photos of her in El Salvador with a silver luggage which actually carries a symbolic meaning for her. The luggage was given to her by fashion designer Mak Tumang, who designed her famous red "Mayon gown" and "Ibong Adarna gown."

Catriona wrote in her caption, "Hola El Salvador! Landed and heading straight to rehearsals for @missuniverse, brought along something to remind me of home and also of my time at MU, this luggage was gifted to me by @maktumang and for the two weeks in Thailand, locked inside were the Ibong Adarna gown and the Lava Gown! Yes they both fit inside this one bag. Can't believe it's almost been five years And tomorrow a new journey begins! Who's your bet, Universe?"

She has gave her support for Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee, praising her preliminary performance, "Such a solid prelims performance!" Catriona said.

Earlier in October, Catriona had also reacted to the lifting of age limit restrictions for the Miss Universe candidates.

In an interview she said, "It's a step toward inclusivity, and I know a lot of fans are crying fowl because it's not the traditional standard that we're all accustomed to, but the thing I would try to remind people was when looking back on my journey, I had so much support...but if I were to ask them, 'What if I was 28 years old, and that meant I couldn't even pursue that.'

She continued, "So I think it's giving an opportunity for more women to really explore and pursue their dreams."

Catriona concluded, "Women do not age out, women are great at every age."

The 2023 Miss Universe pageant will take place on November 18 at the Gimnio Nacional in San Salvador, El Salvador. Stay tuned!
