Catriona Gray celebrates her humble beginnings with Binibining Pilipinas
There is no question of how historic this year's Binibining Pilipinas coronation night was -- from the guests to the beauty queens that took to the stage, it was truly a night to remember.
For years now, it has produced many successful Filipina beauty queens who have captivated the world with their wit and beauty, including Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
To celebrate this year's coronation night and Binibining Pilipinas Charities' 60th anniversary, Catriona appeared on stage together with 99 crowned queens.
Her fellow Miss Universes, Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), and Pia Wurtzbach (2015) were also present during the event.
This event had Catriona looking back on her beginnings in the pageant world and she wrote a sentimental post on Instagram.
“The history-making spectacle that was #BbPilipinas60,” she said. “[One hundred] crowned queens under one roof - a feat that has never been done before. [A]lso the first time for all four [Miss Universes] from the Philippines to be together.”
Of course, she also extended her gratitude to Binibining Pilipinas and its administration, especially Stella Araneta, for opening her door to the world of pageantry.
She wrote, “I will always, always honor [Binibining Pilipinas] as the stage where I was given the chance to pursue my dreams.”
Catriona added, [And I will] always credit Madam Stella Araneta for granting me the opportunity to Raise our Flag on the Miss Universe stage. This is her legacy. What an honor it is to be a part of it.”
