Journalist Roberto Solis graduates from college

Journalist Roberto Solis, whom his younger classmates fondly call Tito Bobby, finally graduates from college after 40 years.

After four decades, Roberto "Bobby" Solis is finally getting his Journalism degree from the University of Santo Tomas as part of the Class of 2025.

Solis, or Tito Bobby to his younger classmates, first enrolled in 1979 but he needed to drop out on his second year after getting a job in a dinner theater, where he worked with Nestor Torre and Elvira Manahan.

After his retirement, Solis enrolled again and finished the last 23 units in December 2024.

Today, May 31, he exited the Arch of the Centuries, a ceremony that symbolized the end of his academic journey with UST.

In an interview with The Varsitarian, the official student publication of UST, Solis admitted that returning to school after four decades was "nerve-racking."

He was quoted as saying, "Fantastic. At the same time, it was nerve-racking. Pero I got used to the feel of the University again. For four decades, hinahanap ko siya. Nalungkot ako noong matatapos na 'yung semester."
