Elmo Magalona is definitely all grown up.
The
More Than Words star recently showed off his toned body on the cover of
Philippine Star Supreme, shared his goals in acting and talked a bit about his work as celebrity ambassador for the United Nations.
First off, he sheds light on the biggest change about him. He admits to
Supreme that he used to be insecure about his body before. He decided to sign up with celebrity trainer Coach Froilan A. Dioso, who is also training other Kapuso actors like Andre Paras and Derrick Monasterio. He stuck to the grueling workout and the very rigid diet and soon got his rocking body.
“It’s still me, my body just looks a bit better,” Elmo says.
Aside from the physical transformation, the Kapuso actor says there was also a change in his mindset. He used to not like acting very much. That was until he starred in
Villa Quintana, a hit drama series on GMA 7, and decided that he wanted to be a serious actor—a goal that he is currently working hard for.
Elmo also does campaigns for sex education and career planning for the Filipino youth as one of the ambassadors of the United Nations Population Fund.
“Sex ed is something that needs to be addressed. The country are already over-populated as it is, so why don’t we teach the youth how to prevent unwanted pregnancies?” he tells
Supreme.
Elmo is set to show more of his drool-worthy body as Hiro in GMA 7's new series
More Than Words.
