Korean global icons BTS broke their own record for the most YouTube views in the first day of its release with their new English-language track “Butter,” racking up over 113 million YouTube views in less than 24 hours from its release.
The boys of BTS held the previous record with their 2020 single “Dynamite,” their first song entirely in English. The music video for "Butter" reached approximately 101.1 million on its first 24 hours.
The track also received over 11 million global Spotify plays soon after its release, breaking the streaming service's opening day record previously held by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's "I Don't Care" with 10.977 million streams.
“Butter” was released on YouTube on May 21 and has skyrocketed in music platforms by the groups' loyal fans collectively known as ARMY. The upbeat song has the perfect summer vibes featuring the boys in black and white soon breaking out in colorful outfits only the bangtan boys can pull off effortlessly.
