There is absolutely no doubt that actress-TV host Donita Rose has got one of the most beautiful faces ever to grace Philippine television. She has worn many hats through the years and with her newfound loves in her life, she is truly conquering new grounds.
As history would have it, Donita was discovered by the late star maker German “Kuya Germs” Moreno back when she used to watch defunct classics like “Lunch Date” and “That's Entertainment.”
At Kuya Germs' first sight of this half-American pretty face, she was immediately offered to try out showbiz and so at 17, her life changed since becoming an actress.
Because of her beauty, she was dubbed as the Audrey Hepburn of the Philippines.
Her big break however came when she became an MTV Asia VJ. Inarguably because of her, everybody wanted to be a VJ and being one is the coolest job on earth. During the late '90s through the early 2000s, she was literally living the dream and had the world at her feet. In fact, in a past interview, she shared that she passed the VJ auditions with flying colors because of her beauty, excellent command of English and her easy-going personality.
At the height of her career, she was even featured on the cover of Time Magazine, the next FIlipina who would make it after the late former President Corazon Aquino.
As her VJ life came to an end, she started a new chapter in her life, this time, as a wife to Eric Villarama who would later be her ex-husband some 16 years later. She also became a mom to her only son Joshua Paul or simply JP.
After experiencing a dwindling career especially at the onset of the pandemic, Donita decided to pack her bags and return to the US to start a new life and build a living out of her newfound love, cooking. Everyone's favorite VJ is now working as a corporate chef in a Filipino supermarket chain in the US.
What's more, she has also found herself in the arms of another love that's been giving more colors into her life. Donita has just recently revealed that she is happily in a relationship with Felson Palad, a professional gospel singer.
Now at 47, Donita is indeed living her life at her happiest and despite her age, people are still in awe of her beauty and grace that never changed through the years.
Let's take a look at the reasons why Donita still is everyone's favorite “it” girl in this gallery:
Born with an impeccable mix of American and Filipino genes, Donita already possessed such arresting effortless beauty. Just like how she put it, much as most people get ashamed of their highschool throwbacks, not her. See?
Any kid in the '90s at one point sure wanted not just to be a VJ but be Donita. In fact, former music channel VJs like Iya Villania have said in past interviews that she pursued the career because she was inspired by Donita in her youth and wanted to be like her.
But before anything else, she is first and foremost, a mother.
Away from the cameras, Donita doesn't mind looking a bit messy and grimy in the kitchen so long as she prepares the most sumptuous, delicious, beautiful meals to her clients.
Doesn't she look like a doll?
Still a goddess, through and through, just like the old times.
Never forget that craziness in you. Sometimes, we all need to let it out and be free.
Do you still remember her English-speaking character Barbie, whose Filipino came off as 'barok Tagalog,' from “Ober da Bakod” back in the '90s? Has anything changed with how she looks?
Donita's beauty complements the calmness of nature.
Above all else, it's the glow of being in love that makes her even lovelier.
