If others would do anything to get ahead in the competition, Megan Young prefers to take it easy and prioritize being polite and a team player. She used this as a strategy in
StarStruck and in Miss World and now advises artista hopefuls to do the same.
“Kill them with kindness, like my mom said. That’s the quote that I’ll never forget that she said during my journey. Always kill them with kindness. There’s no point in being a mean person. No matter how tough things are or people may be towards you, always be the better person,” she said.
Being part of
StarStruck did not only give her a good foundation to begin her career with but it also allowed her to establish good relationships. From the beginning, she kept in mind the importance of respect and generosity, and still strives to practice it until today.
“You really need a good attitude. You can’t be sour and you have to be a good sport so kailangan maganda lagi ang attitude mo towards work because at the end of the day, no matter how great you are and how much talent you have, it all boils down to personality, the way you treat other people,” she added.
For the
StarStruck season 2 avenger,
StarStruck season 6 co-host and Miss World 2013, the technical skills in show business can be learned. Values, however, are innate and are more important.

“The things that we do like acting, dancing, singing, lahat naman 'yan napag-aaralan… People learn it, become good at it so I’d rather not have it at first but have the good attitude and learn [the technical] things along the way,” she declared.
