Kyline Alcantara dressed up as a Filipino folklore character this year, enchanting everyone with her detailed look as a mambabarang.
The All-Out Sundays star donned a creative costume consisting of a dark brown long dress, adorned with leaves and vines.
For her headpiece, she wore animal horns, and held a fire-lit scepter.
The Mambabarang is a figure in Philippine mythology, known as an evil witch or sorcerer who uses black magic to harm others.
Kyline wrote a brief description of her costume's origin: “They are believed to control insects, such as beetles or flies, and use these creatures to possess or attack their victims, often causing illness, madness, or even death,” Kyline said on Facebook.
“The Mambabarang's power is rooted in deep resentment or revenge, and their craft involves intense rituals that connect them with the spiritual or supernatural realm,” she added.
Kyline is playing the role of villain Joanna Dela Costa in the Philippine adaptation of Shining Inheritance.
