
In her first Instagram post after winning the crown, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray shared that she fulfilled her mother's dream when she was 13.
She said, “When I was 13, my mum told me ' Honey, I dreamt of you winning @missuniverse in a red dress.
“At that time I thought nothing of it, and today my mother's dream came true,” she continued.

After winning the crown, Catriona's followers on her Instagram ballooned from 1 million to 2.2 million.

Catriona is the fourth Filipina to win the prestigious Miss Universe crown after Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973) and Pia Wurtzbach (2015).
Before joining Binibining Pilipinas, Catriona was crowned Miss World Philippines in 2016.
She then competed in Miss World 2016 in Maryland, United States where she placed in the top 5.
