This love month, many couples aspire for fancy dinner dates or luxury trips.

But Megan Young never thought of any of those things when asked about her Valentine's Day plans with her boyfriend of eight years Mikael Daez.

The Miss World 2013 explained in an interview why having a low-key relationship works for them.

Megan said, "Mikael and I are low-key to a certain extent kasi, nowadays, mas nagse-share na kami ng relationship namin, mas open na kami.

“But I think the advantage is there's always mystery to the both of you.

"Not only for the people that see our posts on social media, but even for ourselves kasi there are things that you don't know about us in our relationship when you find it out, 'Uy that's so cool. It's slowly unfolding, just like our relationship.'”

Megan also revealed the kind of date that she and Mikael really enjoy.

She shared, "Mag-stream lang kami ng game namin, 'yun 'yung Valentine's namin.

"Hindi kami lumalabas 'pag Valentine's kasi traffic, maraming tao.

"I think ang gagawin namin, mag-i-ice cream cup, 'tapos maglalaro ng video games.”

Instead of spending money to buy expensive gifts, Megan noted that simple acts of thoughtfulness can make your date a memorable one.

"You don't need a lot of money to celebrate Valentine's.

"Kunwari, you get the favorite snack of your partner and then you share your favorite movie, 'di ba?

“That itself is okay because magkasama naman kayo ng partner mo and you guys are enjoying the day or the night together. Okay na 'yun."

Traditional as it may seem, but writing notes are still a thing for Megan.

"Writing a letter really goes a long way. You don't have to have flowery words.

"I think just to express yourself to your partner, and having that physical note, [na] pinaghirapan mo, pinag-isipan, [at] sinulat, would mean a lot to your partner. Ako, I would find that really endearing," Megan ended.
