YouTube star Bogart the Explorer, or Marco Ho in real life, needs to undergo a series of operations and therapy to be able to walk again following a freak surfing accident.

Bogart the Explorer shared the unfortunate news via his social media pages, accompanied by his photo while admitted and being treated at a hospital.

According to the final diagnosis which he also posted online, he suffered “soft tissue defect propliteal area with transection gastrochemius with soleus muscle right secondary to fall.”

He wrote, “I was involved in [a} freak surfing accident over the weekend. My surfboard's fin cut my right leg. the impact was so strong, the fin broke off. I lost a ton of blood and meat. The main vein in my right leg was cut but missed my main artery by 1cm. I will be needing multiple operations of reconstructive surgery and skin grafting, blood transfusions and physical therapy to be able to walk again.”

Despite the mishap, Bogart remains thankful to the people who immediately attended to him as well as optimistic that he will recover from this unfortunate situation.

“To all my family and friends, thank you so very much. You give me strength to fight through this especially my loving wife Jeanette and daughter Music. I love you both so much. I am now in Davao awaiting for more operations. This too shall pass,” he concluded his post.

To all my family and friends, thank you so very much. You give me strength to fight through this especially my loving wife Jeanette and daughter Music. I love you both so much. I am now in Davao awaiting for more operations. This too shall pass.

Bogart the Explorer has been involved in surfing for a couple of years now and this sport has helped him shed off 100 lbs in less than a year.
