Duterte puts NCR, other 'high-risk' areas under modified ECQ

Apparently, news broke out that the local government has decided to lift the liquor ban in the area.

Several news reports show that Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano signed Ordinance No. 6107 lifting the restrictions. But that also came with certain conditions, the most important of which, is that physical social distancing must be followed.

The ordinance stated, "It is opined by stakeholders that there is a need to relax the total prohibition of sale, purchase and distribution of liquor and other alcoholic beverages drinks with the City during the enforcement of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the National Capital Region for economic reasons to help retailers and other small businesses operating within the city.

"Consumption of any kind of alcoholic drinks is allowed as long as it is done inside of the house and physical distancing is strictly observed. In no case shall drinking beyond the premises of the house, including backyards, and in any public place shall be allowed,"

Some netizens tweeted their hilarious reactions to the liquor ban lifting in Pasay.

President Rodrigo Duterte decided to implement a modified enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cebu City from May 16 to 31, since these areas are considered “high-risk” for COVID-19.
