The peafowl is the latest animal that was seen roaming the streets since the modified enhanced community quarantine was reimplemented last August 4.

While people are trying to stay home during the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), some animals are escaping their homes and running on the loose. In the span of a week, we've seen an ostrich and now a peafowl on the streets of Manila.

Facebook user Chico Cabalatungan posted a photo of a peafowl sitting on top of a residential gate in Alabang.

Earlier this week, a clip of an ostrich escaping into the streets and chasing a car in a subdivision in Quezon City was caught on camera by Dino Rivera.

Ride-hailing app Angkas also reposted the viral photo in their social media after the ostrich ran past an Angkas driver.

GMA News Online also reported netizens capturing images of a pig running loose in Cebu, and a cow in Iloilo.

After these viral animal-involved incidents, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) urges the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to revoke wildlife permits issued to 'unfit' carers.
