"In my first condo experience in Katipunan, pinasukan kami.

"I didn't know, I wasn't aware of security at that time and my inexperience showed.

"This was one of my most painful, one of my first extremely painful events after college.

"So we were living on the second floor of the condo, me and my brother. We had just invested in some production equipment which was very expensive. So we were renting it out, 'yun 'yung parang side hustle namin.

"It was my fault and I'm sorry Nicky, it was my fault. I forgot to check the windows because I never ever had to check windows before. It was still my fault.

"I left the condo and when my brother and I got back, all our stuff was missing.

"My Doc Marten shoes which I bought were expensive, especially for me at that time. And then all the camera equipment, all the expensive stuff except for my computer which was heavy kasi. It was gone.

"We didn't know what was happening. It didn't even come to our minds that nanakawan na pala kami.

"Eventually, it hit us after a couple of minutes 'Oh my God! Ninakawan tayo.'

"As we looked around and opened the window, we saw on the ledge very clear footprints in the mud.

"It was painful, Nicky cried. I wanted to cry but Nicky cried first already.

"It sucked, grabe 'yung feeling, ibang klase 'yung pagka-demoralize sa'yo kasi you're looking for your independence, it was our first couple of months outside of the house, and we lose an amount that was more than 75% of our savings.

"Sobrang mahal ng investment namin doon and for us to lose all of that. Wow, that was an experience. That was a growing pain, a very expensive growing pain moment," he recalled.
