The award-winning 2015 film, Apocalypse Child, will soon be available on the streaming platform Netflix starting on December 20.

The Mario Cornejo-directed movie tells the story of surfing instructor Ford, who believes that he is the son of Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola.

His belief stems from the fact that the famous director visited Baler in the 70s to shoot scenes for his movie, Apocalypse Now.

Apocalypse Child won numerous awards from various bodies including QCinema Film Festival in 2015 and the Gawad Urian in 2016.

The movie was also screened in South Korea, Italy, New York, and Canada where it won Best Feature Film at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival.

Sid Lucero portrayed the lead role of Ford in the movie. Joining him in the film were Annicka Dolonius, Gwen Zamora, RK Bagatsing, Ana Abad Santos, and Archie Alemania.
