That is, until her doctor made it clear that it could possibly be something else, something much more serious. “Meron akong infection sa lalamunan ko. May tumutubong lymph nodes sa neck ko. Siguro two months na parang palagi akong may trangkaso,” Katrina verifies in an interview with Startalk. After two weeks of continuous antibiotics, a biopsy will be conducted to test whether it is indeed cancer. Through it all Katrina keeps a brave and beautiful persona to the cameras. “Infection or puwedeng cancer. Ayaw ko mag-isip nun. Think positive,” she says with a smile. As of now, the young actress admits that she is indeed concerned but she is more worried about how it is affecting her work. “Nakaka-abala po kasi para akong palaging may trangkaso, parang palaging may sakit,” she reveals. Coincidentally, fellow StarStruck 1 Avenger Cristine Reyes was also diagnosed with a throat problem last week. The young star will have to undergo surgery for the extraction of her tonsils. To her friend Cristine, Katrina has this to say. “Siguro naiingit lang siya, wala siyang magawa! Hindi joke lang! Di ko po alam, nagulat po ako na pareho pala kami!” She adds, “Pagaling ka, may gimmick pa tayo ha, sa Holy Week!” To her worried fans and admirers Katrina also has a message. “Sa mga fans ko, pag-pray niyo na lang po ako na sana gumaling na ako kasi medyo nahihirapan na ako huminga at papayat na ko nang papayat… Wala naman pong cancer, wala naman po sana.”
