If you need to hear some good news today, well here's one: the cult series Sex and the City is set to return to TV soon via HBO Max.
Lead stars of the iconic TV series have just confirmed that a Sex and the City (SATC) reboot is indeed in the works by sharing a teaser on Instagram.
Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP), who plays Carrie Bradshaw, captioned her post with: “I couldn't help but wonder... where are they now? X, SJ”
While Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, captioned hers with: “Anything is possible...Meet you there!”
Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbes, also shared the same teaser and captioned it with: “You, me, New York...anything is possible.”
Although the TV return of SATC is such good news for fans of the series, some might be disappointed about one bad news: actress Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha Jones, won't be part of the SATC reboot.
In a 2017 interview with Piers Morgan, Kim revealed that she and the other ladies have “never been friends” and even made a comment about SJP saying, “She could've been nicer.” and “I don't know what her issue is.”
She also said, “They all have children and I'm 10 years older. I don't see them. The common ground that we had was this series and this series is over.”
But even though it looks Kim is totally done with playing Samantha on SATC, fans can take comfort in the fact that they're finally going to get that SATC reboot they've been clamoring for soon.

The SATC reboot is titled “And Just Like That…” and it will have 10 episodes, which will show how the women are dealing with life and love in their 50s.
For those who aren't familiar yet with SATC (Seriously, where have you been?), SJP's character Carrie is the protagonist and narrator of the story.
She works as a writer for the fictitious paper called the New York Star, wherein she has a weekly column titled "Sex and the City."
Her friend Charlotte is an art dealer and housewife, while Miranda is a career-minded lawyer.
Kim Cattrall's character Samantha Jones is the sexually liberated one in their girl squad and has a career in PR.

The original SATC TV series premiered in 1996 and ran for six seasons until 2004. It was based on the eponymous book written by Candice Bushnell.
SATC also had two spin-off movies that aired in 2008 and 2010, respectively.

It is unclear what will happen to Samantha since Kim won't be reprising her role in the reboot.
But production is set to begin in New York in late spring and no release date has been announced yet.

Nevertheless, fans of SATC are excited for the revival, which is honestly one the best news to come in early 2021.
So, if you aren't part of the SATC fandom yet, better do some catching up now.
And if you're already a fan, it's time to review past SATC episodes and references, so you can enjoy the reboot all the more when it finally airs.
