Miguel Pangilinan

Manny Pacquiao proves he is a loving ninong as he sends a signed boxing glove to his godchild.

What do you want to get if you know that your godfather is none other than boxing champ Manny Pacquiao? A signed boxing gloves, of course!

This is what the son of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan asked for to his ninong for the new year.

On Instagram, Sharon thanked the boxing champ for gifting an autographed boxing glove and making her son extremely happy for the kind gesture.

She said, “My son Miguel is over the moon right now. His godfather or ninong Senator Manny Pacquiao sent him his promised autographed boxing glove. Thanks so much, Pare and Mareng Jinkee [Pacquiao].”

The singer joked, “Ako pare at mare 'pag nag-isip kayo ever ng ano ba pwede i-gift sa akin, pwede makilala ko lang si Keanu Reeves tapos handa na akong kunin ni Lord! Hahaha!

“Thanks so much for making my son so happy! We love you!”

Along with the post is a photo of Miguel holding up the said boxing glove with Pacman's signature together with the words, “To Miguel.”

Miguel is the 11-year-old adopted child of Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilinan.

In a vlog made back in 2019, Sharon revealed that Miguel was put up for adoption by his biological mother when he was only a day old.

When the Megastar learned that a child was up for adoption, she didn't hesitate to take care of the child.

“When someone said that there was a baby and it was a boy, hindi na ako nag-isip nang dalawang beses,” she said.

“I didn't even see a picture of him. Hindi ko alam kung may diperensya siya, kung hindi sampu 'yung daliri niya. I didn't even ask.

“Ang akin was, it was the right time… I really said na, 'Sana akin na lang 'tong baby.' I was ready for a baby boy.

“So when someone said that there was a little boy, sabi ko lang, 'That's my son.'”

When the child came to her and Kiko's arms, Sharon said that they both immediately fell in love with the child and that she knew he would bring them joy.

While growing up, the couple made sure that Miguel knew of the truth to avoid the awkward questions at the later stage of his life.

Sharon said, “Sa isip ko, lumalaki siya na alam niyang special siyang bata.

“Ang sabi ko sa kanya, the lady that had you really loved you but could not afford to keep you. Actually, mas malalim 'yung istory pero it's not the time for that.”

She added, “So kinuwento ko lang how he came to us all. Miguel came to us, God gave him to us when he was about one day old… 'Your sisters came from my tummy, while you, God sent you to us.'”

“So ngayong kapag tinatanong mo siya, 'Who gave you to daddy and mommy?' Sasabihin n'ya, 'Jesus.'

“Alam n'ya na he's a special child. Special in a way na he was chosen, not so much by us, but by God who sent him to our family when we were ready.”

Sharon has two daughters with Kiko, namely Frankie and Miel. She also had a child with actor Gabby Concepcion, her eldest daughter
