prince harry james corden interview

Prince Harry shares his thoughts about 'The Crown,' the British press, and even gets down and dirty in a new interview with James Corden.

Well, here's something you won't see every day, Prince Harry riding an open-top bus in Los Angeles.

In an episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, the Duke of Sussex joins the British talk show host in a “subtle” bus than a range rover to go sightseeing in the city.

Admittedly, the royal prince said that he “was not really allowed” to go on them and regretted not being able to due to the lockdown, so the “tour” was his first chance to see L.A.

Throughout the interview, James made sure that Prince Harry was comfortable by serving him tea and crumpets as they took in the sights.

They even made a stop at the house used for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that the former deemed as “the best place” for the royals to live.

During their stop at the mansion, the talk show host even engaged in a FaceTime conversation with the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle to convince “Haz” to talk to the owners.

Of course, James spent the time to ask some personal questions to the prince, including how he knew Meghan was “The One,” what he thinks of Netflix's The Crown, and his reason for stepping away as a working member of The Royal Family.

Prince Harry replied, “The second date [with Meghan], I was starting to think this was pretty special.

"It was just the fact that we hit it off with each other, and we're just so comfortable in each other's company.

“Dating me, or with any member of The Royal Family, I guess, is kinda flipped upside down.

"All the dates become dinners or watching the TV or chatting at home. And then eventually, once you become a couple, then you venture out to dinners, to the cinema, and everything else.

"Everything was done back to front with us.

“So, we got to spend an enormous amount of time just the two of us rather than going to friends' houses or out for dinner where there were other distractions.

"There were no distractions, and that was great. It was an amazing thing.”

When talking about The Crown, Prince Harry said that it simply gives viewers a rough idea of what it's like to put duty and service above family and that he has no problem with its airing.

“I am way more comfortable with The Crown than seeing stories written about my family, my wife, or myself,” he said.

“Because it's the difference between that is obviously fiction, take that how you will, but the newspaper stories are being reported on as facts because you are supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”

When asked who will play him in the series, Prince Harry claims that he wants Homeland star Damien Lewis to portray him in any upcoming episodes.

The prince also explained his reasons for “stepping away” from the Royal Family and cited that the British press destroyed his mental health.

“I did what any good husband, any father would do, I needed to get my family out there.

“But we never walked away. As far as I'm concerned, whatever decisions are made on that side, I will never walk away.

"I will always be contributing. My life is public service, so wherever I may be in the world, it's always going to be the same thing.”
