What do tech bloggers have to say about GMA Now?

GMA Now is a mobile digital TV receiver that can be plugged into an Android device and allows you to watch live TV on the go for free.

It is a thumb drive-sized dongle that will give you access to GMA, GTV, Heart of Asia, Hallypop, Dep-Ed TV, and all available free-to-air digital channels in your location.

With GMA Now, you will be able to catch all your favorite Kapuso shows as long as you are within the coverage area.

Bam Amor of adobotech.net described the device as "sulit."

"Itong GMA Now mobile digital TV ay sulit talaga. Why? For only P649 pwede mo nang dalhin 'yung TV mo anywhere you go at a very compact and small package. Hindi lang 'yun. Any Android smartphone na with OTG (on the go) support ay pwede mong gamitin," he says.

He also appreciates how accessible the device is since it comes with a USB type C adaptor.

"It does not matter kung micro USB port siya or type C kasi meron na rin siyang kasamang type C adaptor so kumpleto na 'yung package.

"Sa app naman, madali lang siyang gamitin, installation. 'Yung app is readily available to download on [Google] Playstore," he explains.

"It's a great device lalo na kung nagko-commute ka. Ang gagawin mo lang naman is plug this on your Android smart phone, plug in your headset and you can now start watching your favorite TV shows," Bam adds.

Abe Olandres of yugatech.com also commended GMA Now's ease of use--both the product and the app.

"The GMA Now app was easy enough to install and register. To its credit, it's simple but gives you all the functionality you need including a quick menu to browse through channels and switch through different aspect ratios," he says.

He also demonstrated how a few gestures give you quick access to various controls: one-finger swipe up or down changes the volume, while the two-finger swipe up or down controls the screen brightness.

"You can also swipe left or right to switch channels as well as use gestures to control volume and brightness. Let's take a moment to appreciate the crystal clear reception," Abe explains.

He also noted how GMA Now gives a user a more interactive experience to an otherwise passive activity.

"Interestingly enough, the app offers even more features in portrait orientation. For some channels, you'll find YouTube videos you can watch in app. You can also view and edit your profile and even react to some of the programs while you're watching them which is an interesting way to bring the social aspect to broadcast TV," he says.

Ber Reyes of Unbox PH reminded users about the minimum system requirements of GMA Now.

"You just need to make sure your Android is at least an Android 6.0, may dual core 1 gigahertz CPU at naka on dapat ang on the go mode sa settings.

"Actually, if medyo naguguluhan kayo sa mga numbers na mga sinasabi ko, ako rin minsan. It's okay. You can just go to gmanow.tv and you can input your phone there sila mismo magsasabi sa'yo kung pwede sa phone mo ang GMA Now," she says.
