Bea Alonzo pulls off another surprise.

The Kapuso actress on Tuesday (November 23) was formally introduced as Tanduay's calendar girl for 2022.

The popular liquor brand, which dubbed the partnership as “The Perfect Match,” posted a short video on Facebook showing clips from the photoshoot.

Edzel Ty, digital brand manager of Tanduay, described Bea as “confident, trusted, sexy, and classy,” qualities that make her suited for the role.

The liquor brand, interestingly, has pursued Bea in the past, only to be turned down politely by the actress.

For Bea, the timing then was a bit off so she had to decline the invitation.

“I was asked by Tanduay, this was after I did One More Chance, to be on the calendar for that specific year [2007], but I said no,” Bea said in a video interview presented during the launch.

“Because at that time, I wasn't ready yet. Maybe I was at that point in my life where I wasn't that confident yet and parang hindi siya aligned dun sa gusto kong mangyari at that point in my life.”

Bea continued, “So when I was asked the second time, parang everything was just falling into place and I felt empowered. I felt like I was ready for change.

“I really couldn't think of reasons why I shouldn't do it, so I said yes.”

To look the part, Bea took on the initiative to work out consistently and go on a “healthy diet” for weeks.

“I wanted to look my best so I did that on my own. I wanted to challenge myself and I don't want to look back 10 years from now and say, 'Sana pinaghandaan ko 'yon!' I really wanted to prepare for it.”

Bea now joins other stars who have graced the liquor brand's roster of calendar girls such as Ellen Adarna, Bela Padilla, Jessy Mendiola, Ivana Alawi, and Heart Evangelista, among many others.
