Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz shares the story behind her 31st birthday celebration
Hidilyn Diaz revealed why she decided to make her 31st birthday extra special and a memorable one.
According to the Olympic gold medalist, it took years before she finally got to celebrate her birthday with the important people in her life.

She said, "I want my 31st birthday to be extra special, I had been celebrating my birthday outside the country since 2019, it's my first time again to celebrate my birthday with friends, family, and fans."
Hidilyn also prepared a photoshoot to remember this special day. She dressed as Luisa Madrigal from the movie, Encanto, a Disney animated musical released in 2021.
Hidilyn also highlighted her chosen dress that was made by a local brand, Trude Lizares.
"To make it extra special I had a photoshoot taken by @imjulius, cosplay Luisa Madrigal of Encanto movie (pero parang si Isabel (Isabela Madrigal) ako dito 😊), and a special dress made by @trudelizares and made of 100% sustainable organic pure silk cocoon handwoven and hand-dyed by the locals in the Visayas."
Ending her post, she left an inspiring note for her followers.
She said, "Life is beautiful, keep smiling, and inspiring. Thank God for everything."
