Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega will be reconnecting with her first love, ice-skating this coming Easter.
Ashley is set to perform at SM Megamall's Special Easter Show this Sunday, April 17, 2:30 p.m. at the Mega Fashion Hall.
Ashley started skating when she was just five years old. She has competed in different countries like China, Malaysia, and Thailand and has won several medals.
"Sa Malaysia, nakauwi po ako ng eight gold medals, dalawang silver saka isang bronze. Ako po 'yung Filipina na pinakamaraming nauwing gold medals," Ashley revealed in an interview with Tunay na Buhay.
She eventually had to quit skating because of how expensive it is.
"Actually ang skating kasi is a very expensive sport kasi kailangan talagang hindi lang isa [ang] coach mo. Kailangan four or five coaches and then sometimes you have to train sa ibang country para mas advance. Kasi dito sa Philippines, dalawa lang ang skating rink natin dito. So kailangang mas advance and kailangan 'yung even the gears, 'yung skate shoes mahal," she explained.
Ashley eventually returned to the ice to compete in Summer Skate 2018 where she bagged three gold medals for three different categories.
Just this year, she got back into ice-skating after the lock-in taping of her GMA Telebabad suspenserye Widow's Web.
