In a lengthy post on social media, "I am Gio Alvarez to people who know me but my full name is Giorgio Pietro Verano Alvarez. I am a Filipino. And this is my first time to vote for the future of my country. I would like to share something I have experienced with all of you…
"Matapos kaming pumila ng almost 3 hours, dumating ako sa aking designated room kung saan ako boboto nang malaman ko na mali pala ang first name na nailagay sa voters reference na galing sa Comelec.
Gio explained how his name was written wrong. "Typographical error ang nangyari…
"Yung 2nd, middle at last name ko [ay] tama. Pati na rin ang address ko ay tama.
"Nangyayari naman yun. May nagkakamali. Wala namang perpekto sa mundo eh.
He gave a few reminders for future voters, "Kaya naman sinigurado ng COMELEC na may iba pang mga information na kailangan mula sa mga botante para masigurado nilang yun nga ang tama at totoong tao na bumoboto.
Tulad ng:
•Ano ang cluster number mo?
•Saan ang kwarto kung saan ka boboto?
•Ikaw ba ay male or female?
•Pangilan ka ba sa listahan ng mga botante?
•Please bring a valid ID.
"Tanong ko lang, eh paano kung ang nangyari sayo eh katulad ng nangyari sa akin?
"In a very important time of the country's future like election day, isn't it critical that there should be some sort of “emergency board” from COMELEC in these precincts to handle such things like typographical errors man lang? like what had happened to my name here? Saka with an immediate solution?
"Lalo na't kung napakatagal mo nang nakapila, mainit at may kailangan ka pang gawin sa iyong araw. By the way, may pandemic pa rin ha.
"Sa pagbalik ko kaya sa presinto ay MALALAMAN ko na kung pwede na ba ako bumoto or hindi? Lord, have mercy! Happy first time to vote…"
When a netizen asked if Gio was able to vote, he answered he was still trying to cast his ballot, "Going back in a while."
