Sparkle heartthrob Miguel Tanfelix shares his love for the action-drama film 'Top Gun.'
Voltes V: Legacy and What We Could Be star Miguel Tanfelix shared to his Instagram followers why he's a big fan of the 1986 movie 'Top Gun' starring Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise.
Tom will reprise his role as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in the upcoming sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which will be shown in Philippine cinemas beginning May 25.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, the Sparkle actor said that he has watched the first movie multiple times.
“If there's a movie I could watch over and over again, it would definitely be Top Gun. Would you believe [it] if I told you that I've seen the film more or less ten times already in less than a year? When I saw it, I quickly fell in love with Maverick's character.”
What's more, he revealed that one of his pegs for his role as Steve Armstrong in Voltes V: Legacy is Maverick.
He said, “Hence, making him one of the biggest peg for my character - Steve Armstrong. A lot of common denominators between the two; aviation, bikes, and both feel the need, the need for speed!!!.”
Miguel then added, “Plus, after learning that Tom Cruise was almost my age when they shot the first Top Gun back in 1986 inspires me on a whole new level. Hayyy I'm just so happy that we have a Top Gun [in] our own generation.
“PS: I'm not that type of person who dresses up as their favorite character when seeing their favorite movie but look at me now.”
The Kapuso heartthrob even dressed up like Maverick, when he watched the early screening of Top Gun: Maverick.
