They definitely have the chemistry to take them to the next level. Sparkle loveteam Jamir Zabarte and Zonia Mejia were chosen to grace the latest issue of multimedia magazine Village Pipol.
Dubbed by their fans as JaNia, the on-screen couple showed their kilig moments in the hit rom-com series Heartful Café in 2021 starring Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco.
This year, they were tapped to be part of the much-awaited project of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera for their primetime sitcom Jose and Maria's Bonggang Villa. In fact, their director, John “Sweet” Lapus was so impressed with their chemistry during the audition process that they immediately got the role in the sitcom.
In their exclusive chat with Village Pipol, the two recalled their experience working together in Heartful Café.
Zonia shared that Jamir made her feel comfortable and she made a lot of realizations also doing that teleserye with him.
“Nung nag sho-shoot na kami, sobra kong na-enjoy katrabaho si Jamir, madami akong na-realize sa sarili ko and sa craft ko dahil sa kaniya. And makulit and madaldal kasi si Jamir so hindi ako nahirapan mag-reach out sa kaniya or i-approach siya kasi makita ko pa lang si Jamir, ramdam ko agad na welcome ako sa life niya hahaha.” Zonia noted.
Meanwhile, the Kapuso heartthrob was thankful that he received so much support from Zonia in doing his first TV series.
Jamir told Village Pipol, “To be honest, thankful talaga ako na siya 'yung nakasama ko sa first serye ko kasi never niya akong iniwan sa ere, parati siyang and'yan para tulungan ako sa kung ano man 'yung kailangan kong i-deliver na scene. Ang saya din sa feeling na may taong concerned sa'yo.”
