"I want this celebration to be a thanksgiving celebration na lang for all of us, and for us to really appreciate the blessings and realize how truly blessed we are. Let’s offer this for all the victims of Yolanda.” - Bea's birthday message

Kapuso young actress Bea Binene turned 16 last November 4 and held her post-birthday celebration on November 13 at the Ruby Hall of Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas.

Present at the event were Bea’s family, select members of the press and her close friends Barbie Forteza, Joyce Ching, Krystal Reyes, Yassi Pressman and Jake Vargas.

Top GMA executives were also among the guests. GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar, VP for Program Management Joey Abacan, GMA Artist Center AVP Simoun Ferrer and GMA Artist Center Talent Management Manager Tracy Garcia all graced Bea's “Sweet 16th” party.

The party started with an audiovisual presentation showing Bea’s transformation from a cute child star to the blooming young lady she is today. The birthday girl was then called on stage.

The Kapuso young actress gave a short message and said, "This is a post-birthday celebration, pero actually I think that this is not the right time to celebrate because of Yolanda. Ngayon, I want this celebration to be a thanksgiving celebration na lang for all of us, and for us to really appreciate the blessings and realize how truly blessed we are. Let’s offer this for all the victims of Yolanda.”

This was followed by a mini talk show, where Bea was interviewed by the host. The Kapuso actress enumerated the many things she is thankful for. She is blessed to have been given the chance to have a showbiz career and showcase her communication skills through reporting. She is also glad that she has found her ultimate sport, Wushu.

She feels honored be working with talented people and still have time for school despite having a busy schedule. She is grateful for having a glam team that makes sure she looks good all the time. She also sent her heartfelt thanks to all the brands that have trusted her to be their endorser. Bea considers it a blessing that she is able to make good use of her earnings despite her young age.

She also mentioned that GMA Artist Center has helped her a lot in continuously developing her skills as an entertainer. Of course, she would not be where she is today if it were not for her loyal supporters. Lastly, she is forever thankful for GMA’s trust and support, and for being given the chance to help others through GMA Kapuso Foundation and other charitable organizations.

Special people in Bea’s life went onstage to give her a birthday message.

The first one was GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar. She was followed by Bea’s mother, whose message moved Bea to tears.

Bea’s special friend, Jake Vargas, then sweetly serenaded her with the song “Forevermore.”

Mr. Simoun Ferrer and Ms. Tracy Garcia of GMA Artist Center also gave inspirational messages to Bea. A representative from one of Bea’s endorsements, Tony & Jacky Salon, went on stage to present a check worth P200,000 for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

One of the highlights of the party was when a little girl from Make A Wish Foundation was invited onstage to be with her idol, Bea Binene. Bea granted her adorable fan’s wish for a tablet. The Kapuso star described the experience as “priceless”.

The event wrapped up with a final message from Bea, followed by an interview with members of the press.

When asked what her birthday wish is, Bea answered, “Siyempre hope, tiwala, lakas ng loob at pagtutulungan. Wish ko talaga and I really hope na maging maayos ang pagbangon ng Pilipinas at sana mapabilis ang pagbangon ng bansa natin.”

Besides her GMA Kapuso Foundation cash donation, Bea shared that she will be having a fund-raising activity with her fellow Kapuso stars.

“’Yung Tweens po nagpa-plan na mag-garage sale. Tapos ako gusto kong mag-auction sa online store ko sa Instagram. Gusto ko rin mag-telethon. Siyempre, simple things like keeping the people updated sa Instagram. Nagpopost ako ng mga dapat gawin ‘pag emergency, kung ano ‘yung dapat gawin ng mga nasalanta, and of course, prayers,” stated Bea.
