On Instagram, former actress Michelle Madrigal posted a heartwarming letter to her younger self.

In the post, Michelle uploaded a throwback picture of herself as a young girl flashing a huge smile. In the caption, she mentioned that the smile “was stripped away from you at such a young age,” but that she's still proud of them.

“I'm so proud of us. Proud of you for being a fighter, risk taker and always standing up for yourself no matter what,” she said

Michelle also assured her younger self that she's now safe and that she's now in charge of helping other women in believing and standing up for themselves.

“Your story is powerful. Look at us smiling genuinely these days like in this photo,” she added, before posting a quote from John 13:7.

“You may not understand now what I am doing. But someday, you will,” she posted, adding that God has prepared her for this.

In a separate post, Michelle also expressed how she likes who she has become and who she is becoming.

“Don't forget to bet on yourself,” she added.

Michelle has had her ups and downs in the past years, most notably her separation from her ex-husband. However, she also posted about being happy because of a new love.

August last year, Michelle announced her separation from ex-husband Troy Woolfolk and has since been going through filing and finalizing their divorce. However, she admitted that they've remained friends and co-parent their daughter, Anika.

Recently, Michelle announced that she's dating again and found a new love. The former actress admitted though that while she did not expect it, she was glad it happened.
