This 2014, the Kapuso Primetime Queen will reign even more supreme as she stars in GMA Telebabad series, Carmela. Let us take a look back at Marian Rivera’s most iconic roles and follow her rise to superstardom.
If Helen of Troy is the face that has launched a thousand ships, Marian Rivera is the face that has launched the most popular teleseryes that Philippine television has ever seen. This 2014, the Kapuso Primetime Queen will reign even more supreme as she stars in GMA Telebabad series, Carmela. Let us take a look back at Marian Rivera’s most iconic roles and follow her rise to superstardom.

Marimar

One audition has changed Marian Rivera’s life. Out of the many Kapuso actresses who aspired to breathe life into the character popularized by Mexican star Thalia, Marian Rivera stood out. In no time, the moderately popular Marian Rivera was catapulted into stardom. She danced like Marimar. She spoke like Marimar. She did not just portray Marimar well. She became Marimar. For the first time, she was paired with Dingdong Dantes and their chemistry was and still is a match made in heaven.

Dyesebel

If Marian was fierce and feisty in Marimar, in Dyesebel, we saw her fun and playful side. Marian’s Dyesebel was not difficult to love because she possessed that mermaid-like mesmerizing beauty and perfectly acted out the character’s longing for love. It marked another successful team-up for her and Dingdong Dantes, elevating them to one of the most bankable love teams on television.

Darna

It takes guts to don the Darna costume gloriously, and Marian Rivera is the perfect combination of guts and glory. With her svelte, toned body and newly acquired martial arts skills, Marian Rivera was able to pull off her role as one of Filipino pop culture’s most loved superheroes. She deserved to get the rock because quite frankly, she rocks.

Amaya

In yet another memorable role, Marian Rivera took on the role of Amaya. Amaya was a princess who became a slave and later became the first female chief leader in a pre-Hispanic town. She also had a snake twin. Marian gave her all in this empowering role, and it was worth it. She got recognized for her efforts and won Best Actress at the Golden Screen TV Awards 2013 and Northwest South Samar State University Awards for her outstanding performance.

Carmela

This 2014, Marian Rivera will be defying boundaries. Watch her in her most stunning, daring and heartfelt performance in the GMA Telebabad series, Carmela. A woman whom all men love and all women love to hate, Carmela is probably Marian Rivera’s most challenging role to date. It will also mark her first team-up with Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards, making it more intriguing and exciting.

Watch the one and only Kapuso Primetime Queen, Marian Rivera breathe life into the beautiful Carmela this January on GMA Telebabad. For more updates, keep visiting www.gmanetwork.com.
