What does a girl want? Usually, a guy is considered boyfriend material if he is smart, articulate and a true gentleman. The good news is that we’ve found this guy in Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves. Even better news is that he’s single! Where can you find this Prince Charming on Valentine’s Day?

GMANetwork.com sat down with the Adarna actor for an exclusive one-on-one interview last January 30 during the GMA Artist Center fan conference held in Max’s restaurant.

Currently, his character in Adarna went from the street-smart Bok to the dark and mysterious Agalon.

On Bok’s unexpected transformation, Benjamin said, “It’s nice. I’ve known all along that it was gonna happen so I’m excited. I hope everyone is.”

He added, “I know everyone is nanghihinayang kasi magiging masama si Bok, but huwag kayo po mag-alala because the GMA writers have a purpose in doing that. Tingnan na lang natin kung anong mangyayari.”

Being able to breathe life into a character who is in the gray area and torn between good and evil is an enjoyable challenge for the versatile actor.

He quipped, “It’s great na meron akong dalawang personalities. Sabi ko nga, ‘di ba ginagawa ng Rhodora X ngayon ‘yun?”

He continued, “It’s nice dahil may struggle si Bok bilang Agalon. Bumalik ‘yung alaala ni Bok. Hindi siya na-brainwash, so nandun ‘yung present which is ‘yung pagmamahal niya kay Ada and nandun ‘yung past na may mission pala siya na kunin si Ada. Magju-jumble pareho ‘yun, so it was fun.”

Besides Bok, Migo and Falco are also vying for Ada’s love in Adarna. Why should Ada choose Bok over the other two?

The dashing Kapuso actor answered, “Unlike Migo, walang anghel na hinahanap si Bok. Gusto niya si Ada “my labs” lang talaga. Si Falco may tungkulin ‘yan, eh. Basta si Bok talaga [ang dapat piliin ni Ada]. Maalaga ‘yun eh. Mas magiging makulay ang buhay ni Ada kapag kasama si Bok. Nakikita naman natin ‘yun.”

Will Benjamin’s own love life be as colorful as Bok’s this coming Valentine’s Day? How does he intend to spend it?

Benjamin replied, “May trabaho kami at may promo kami the next day.”

He continued, “Maraming babae sa set namin and I’ll make sure as one of the males there, kailangan iparamdam sa kanila na Valentine’s Day kahit nagtra-trabaho sila. I think it’s our job for us guys there in the set- Geoff, Mikael…we have to make them feel that it’s Valentine’s Day.”

Won’t he be asking out a “special someone” this Kapuso month?

The Kapuso heartthrob revealed, “It’s nice to think about a girl. There’s a girl in my mind but hanggang dun pa lang siya.”
