All the proceeds will cover Parokya ni Edgar's Gab Chee Kee's medical expenses.
Parokya ni Edgar Chito Miranda took to his Instagram account to announce that the late rapper Francis Magalona's iconic polo, which he wore “Bagsakan” music video, has officially been sold for a whopping PhP620,000.
According to Chito, the polo was donated by Pia Magalona to help out with the medical expenses of Parokya ni Edgar guitarist Gab Chee Kee. Last January, Chito revealed that Gab has been diagnosed with lymphoma in 2022 and has been undergoing chemotherapy.
In his post, Chito shared, “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nag-bid para sa polo na ginamit ni Sir Francis Magalona sa music video ng Bagsakan, lalo kay Boss Toyo na nanalo sa bidding, na sya ring nakabili ng polo ni Gloc9 for P80k, at sa polo ko for P150k (at yung "Halina sa Parokya" puppets na nabili nya for 85k) Napakalaking tulong nito for Gab kasi lahat ng kinita sa pagbenta ng mga polo ay mapupunta sa kanya.”
Chito addressed Pia and said, “Sobrang salamat din kay Ma'am Pia Magalona sa pag-donate ng polo ni Sir Kiko para kay Gab (alam ko po na sobra yung sentimental value ng polo sa inyo pero pinili nyo pa ring i-donate para makatulong sa kabanda namin).”
Chito also thanked Saab Magalona, daughter of the late Francis M. and Pia, who helped them create more funds for Gab. He shared, “Gusto ko rin magpasalamat kay @saabmagalona na naging tulay sa pag-coordinate namin kay Ma'am Pia para mahanap yung polo ni Sir Kiko, and aside from that, donated more than P300k mula sa shirt company nila na @linyalinya Grabe kayo. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong lahat mula sa Parokya, at sa family ni Gab.”
