Meanwhile, Maiqui also revealed that she is undergoing treatment, after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis.
She posted on Instagram, “I have a rare autoimmune disease called Dermatomyositis that causes muscle weakness, inflammation and a skin rash.
“I already started treatment but the journey to recovery is far from over. There are good days but there are still bad days. I am hopeful that this is just temporary and I will work on getting better one day at a time.
“Thank you to everyone who sent prayers and messages of love and support! It meant a lot to me.”
According to the information from mayoclinic.org, dermatomyositis is an uncommon inflammatory disease marked by muscle weakness and a distinctive skin rash.
The condition can affect adults and children. In adults, dermatomyositis usually occurs in the late 40s to early 60s. In children, it most often appears between five and 15 years of age. Dermatomyositis affects more females than males.
