For weeks, divorce has been a hot topic on social media since the divorce bill passed its final reading at the House of Representatives.

Some Filipino celebrities have expressed their thoughts and strong opinion about it.

Recently, Maxene Magalona shared a powerful line on Instagram about the divorce bill.

She started her post with the caption, "Letting go is medicine for the soul."

Maxene added, "Because it's #MentalHealthAwareness month, I would like to share some of my thoughts on the importance of walking away from toxic relationships that are detrimental to our mental health."

Maxene also noted that getting married is a risk. She continued, "When people get married, they do it by taking a risk. We don't get married with a guarantee that the relationship will truly work..."

She ended her post with her stand about it: "We deserve divorce."

Following the said post, Widows War actress and Kapuso star Carla Abellana noted that she agreed with Maxene's thoughts.

In the comments section, she commented, “100 percent.”

Maxene Magalona tied the knot with musician Rob Mananquil in 2018, but they got separated in 2022. Carla Abellana, on the other hand, confessed in her previous interviews that she has regrets about marrying actor Tom Rodriguez, whom she tied the knot with in October 2021.

Meanwhile, in 2022, Tom Rodriguez revealed that he is already divorced from Carla.

"I left the Philippines for the US last March 13, with the realization that despite all my efforts, Carla had already given up on our marriage," the actor said.
