Rocco Nacino and Melissa Gohing are officially married!
The wedding ceremony happened two months after their engagement. The celebrity couple were in a relationship for three years before Rocco asked Melissa to be his wife. The couple's romantic engagement happened last November 20 in an open hill in Valley Golf Subdivision in Antipolo. Rocco and Melissa started dating in September 2017.
The Kapuso actor and professional volleyball player exchanged "I dos" in a military wedding held at Pier 13 in South Harbor, Manila on January 21. The beautiful private ceremony took place before a military chaplain onboard naval warship BRP Davao Del Sur LD602.
To ensure the well-being of their loved ones and to adhere to the health and safety protocols against the COVID-19 pandemic, Rocco and Melissa decided to have a video conference for their friends and family who could not be physically present at their wedding. Melissa shared some of their family members and friends who joined the wedding via conference call in her Instagram stories.
According to Rocco's message sent to GMANetwork.com, the couple decided to tie the knot in the military service to honor Rocco for being a member of the Philippine Navy Reserve Command and Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG).
In addition, the wedding is to properly honor their parents' wishes to see them marry first before they start living together.
Rocco's wedding announcement also included their reason why they decided to tie the knot in just a few months after their engagement. According to Rocco, they planned their wedding before Melissa started her “bubble” training for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Aside from his wife's volleyball preparation, Rocco will also be set to work on a movie project under TBA Studios with Sanya Lopez and Valeen Montenegro.
Rocco said that when the COVID-19 pandemic situation starts to settle down, they will eventually hold a Christian wedding.
