On March 30, 2021, TV and movie actor Derek Ramsay revealed his engagement to actress Ellen Adarna.
Announcing their engagement on Instagram, Derek simply wrote, "GAME ON!!!"
A day after, in a separate Instagram post, Derek thanked Ellen for saying "yes" to his proposal.
He wrote, "Since the day we first met @maria.elena.adarna the chemistry between us has been undeniable, it's so strong that I have to catch my breath at times.”
"I've always said that love is intangible, something you can't see or touch...but now I believe otherwise. The chemistry between us that has left me reeling at times has made me see, feel, and grasp this unexplainable deep love I now have.
"When I look at you I see love and when I touch you I embrace love. Last night we were surrounded by so much love.
"I am honoured and grateful that you said YES BUT most of all Thank you for loving me and allowing me to love you,” he further shares.
On November 11, 2021, a few months after they got engaged, the two officially tied the knot in Bagac, Bataan. Ellen shared in her post, “Last night, I married the man of my dreams, affirmations and prayers.”
Derek and Ellen only met in January 2021 when Derek hosted a dinner at his house in Alabang. A little over two months, Ellen became the person that Derek learned to love. He also learned to become a father figure to Elias Modesto, Ellen's son with John Lloyd Cruz.
While Derek and Elias easily got along, the former cleared that he doesn't have the intention to replace John Lloyd as father to Elias.
"I see how he cares for his son and I'm not replacing him.
"I have no intentions of doing that because he is a very good father to Elias.
"I'm just being Tito Derek and Elias is a part of Ellen," Derek said.
He also shared that he's happy being "number two" in Ellen's life because "Elias should always be her number one."
