NorthPort Batang Pier guard Robert Bolick made headlines in late 2021 for something unrelated to his basketball career: his controversial love life.
Previously, Bolick was in a long-term relationship with volleyball star Aby Maraño.
It is unclear when their relationship officially ended, as the two never made an announcement.
Hence, many were shocked when Bolick posted a photo of him and his new girlfriend, Cassandra Yu, on social media on October 24, 2021.
Bolick and Yu shared photos from their vacation together, to which Maraño had a strong reaction.
Maraño commented, “Solid naman ng vacation [n'yo]. Hindi ko alam may bago ka na?”
The comments on Bolick's first post with Yu have since been turned off.
And on January 1, 2022, shortly after midnight, the basketball player announced that he and Yu are engaged.
But the surprises didn't stop there. Just a few months after the engagement anouncement, the couple again caught the attention of people online after they confirmed that they are already married. The two got hitched in Cebu city in March 2022.
