As Valentine's Day draws near, we see a lot of couples excited over the upcoming celebration.
On the other hand, some single people tend to feel bad about not having someone to celebrate it with.
The big question is: do we really need to have that special someone to celebrate Valentine's Day?
Life coach and author of the best-selling #bestmeever book series, Myke Celis, debunks this common notion.
He says, "You don't need to be in a relationship with another person to fully enjoy Valentine's Day.
"You can be in a harmonious relationship with yourself and still be genuinely happy about it.”
He also notes the importance of self-love, “Before you start looking for the perfect partner, you have to be the ideal person for yourself first.
"Love yourself like the way you want to be loved.
The way you willingly let others experience.
"When you are able to love yourself whole and embrace yourself fully, that's when you become truly ready to be in a relationship with someone else. It's not the other way around.”
Myke reminds single people on Valentine's Day, "Stop thinking that having a romantic relationship will complete you because as you are, you are whole.
"So focus on yourself, your well being and your growth.
"You can still have a happy heart by doing all the things you love and allowing yourself to receive the kind of love you deserve.
"Isn't that what Valentine's Day is all about? Having happy hearts?”
The celebrity life coach further gives tribute to all single people out there.
"Give yourself a pat on the back. Because you are strong enough to stand on your own because you know your worth.
"Don't ever settle for less, just to conform with the norm.
"At the end of the day, with or without a partner, you'll make it through Valentine's Day.
"All you have to do is keep your values intact, trust yourself and the process more as you become truly empowered from within.
"Plus, you can always take yourself out on a date," Coach Myke concluded.
