Kapuso couple Mikee Quintos and Paul Salas have a tip to anyone who's started to court someone else, and that's to be true to yourself.

In a vlog posted by the Lolong actor on his channel, Mikee revealed that Paul initially had a hard time with their relationship since everyone from Mikee's family does not approve of the young actor.

“Magiging honest ako. Nahirapan talaga si Paul nung una kasi nung start ng relationship, lahat hindi boto sa kanya,” she said.

Paul, likewise, admitted that he felt that Mikee's family does not approve of him and that he was not able to talk with them easily. However, despite this, his confidence made him continue pursuing the young actress with the thought that her family's approval of him will change.

He also said that it did push him to realize how much he loved Mikee since was able to do the things that he usually never does.

“Tulad ng pagpilit kay tita na ilabas si Mikee, dumating sa point na napapa-text ako, nakukulit ko sila tita, sila tito,” he said.

He also noted that when he was courting Mikee he learned the importance of staying true to himself and not trying too hard.

Mikee agreed, “'Wag talaga. If you try too hard kasi, you tend to show a different side of yourself. Or you pretend to be someone else, or pretend to be someone you're not."

Paul added, “Nung nagawa ko yun guys, nung pinakita ko lang talaga yung sino ako, ngayon, iba na yung nafi-feel ko."

He also added that he appreciated all the help he received from Mikee's family including her mom and older sister.

“Talagang dun ko naappreciate,” he added.

Last May, Paul confirmed on Mars Pa More that he and Mikee are dating, but that they are not rushing into things. Mikee, on the other hand, revealed that what she liked about Paul is his being observant and how he is able to provide her what she needs even before she asked for it.
