Maxene Magalona finally breaks her silence over her separation from husband Rob Mananquil.

In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, Maxene recalled the time she realized her marriage with Rob was over.

“I had that moment na parang naisip ko, 'Enough is enough.' I didn't feel like I was myself anymore. I could also see him experiencing that. Both of us were struggling,” Maxene said.

“I was the one who decided na parang hindi na talaga match. Nasabi ko naman lahat sa kaniya at naintindihan niya naman. It was more of a mutual decision,” she added.

She clarified that despite parting ways, they remain on good terms. "I fully respect my ex-husband. I'm not mad. There is no more anger...For me, the separation was actually a blessing in disguise, because now, I can actually work on myself even more, and he can also do the same.”

Maxene continued to share how they tried to make the marriage work, but it was "just not a match anymore.“I know that I give my all and I exhaust all options. At the end of the day, it's just not a match anymore. You'll have to just accept that. A separation is painful. It's a loss, a heartbreak, a failure. You have to come to terms with that.”

While healing from her past, Maxene said she is not closing her doors to love and won't let pain hold her back from making new connections. “I will be honest that I have been speaking and forming connections and I want to really connect.… I don't want to let pain stop me from living my life the way I want to,” Maxene said.

When asked what kind of partner she wants in her future, Maxene detailed her ideal man, "I want him to be self-aware, conscious, spiritual, connected to God, and know what he wants. And I want an artist - someone who can create and just be passionate. I want someone who loves life as much as I do.”

Maxene and Rob tied the knot in 2018 in a private wedding ceremony. Rumors of their breakup started in in early 2022.
