Mikael Daez and Megan Young

As the country slowly opens up its doors for domestic travel, we can't help but wonder about how safe it is to travel under the new normal. Fortunately for us, Mikael Daez and Megan Young shared their top travel tips in the latest episode of their podcast, '#BehindRelationshipGoals!' Watch their video, here.

In the latest episode of Mikael Daez and Megan Young's podcast, '#BehindRelationshipGoals,' the celebrity couple talked about the best practices to observe while traveling under the new normal.

A post shared by Mikael Daez (@mikaeldaez) on

There, Mikael and Megan revealed that they have frequently been going on road trips to Megan's home province of Subic to visit her Lola and also scout a place for their possible future home.

Thanks to these trips, they have gained quite a good amount of experience when it comes to traveling under the new normal which they then shared with their podcast listeners.

For their first tip, Megan stressed for would-be travelers to do their research on the protocols of the provinces they would like to visit.

"We definitely did our research. What were the things that were allowed or who was allowed to go into Subic during these times? So you definitely need to be a resident or you need to have certain documents to show that you live in Subic or you're from Subic.

"That was one thing that we made sure of whenever we travel," she said.

They also reminded listeners to have a full tank of gas for these long road trips which was one lesson they had to learn the hard way when they almost ran out of fuel on the way to their destination.

According to Mikael, "During the first two weeks of us taking weekly road trips from Manila to Subic, I think this was on our second road trip, we almost ran out of gas because 'di ko kabisado 'yung kotse, nakalimutan ko na.

"What happened was that we left Pasig and we had half a tank of gas. And once we hit SCTEX, for whatever reason, I think traffic sa Metro Manila, nag-ilaw na 'yung warning light ng gas tank namin.

"I was like, 'Oh my God!

"It was saying '20Km left' and on the road sign it would say '20Km left to get to Subic.'

"Sobrang sakto, I slowed down to a crawl, I was avoiding stepping on the gas, and I was doing all the fuel-saving tactics that I knew in my head."

Another one of their tips was that aside from bringing PPEs such as face masks and shields, they also brought an extra pair of clothes since they knew that they would be spending their day house hunting so they wanted to change into something fresher before they got home.

Lastly, Mikael and Megan advised their listeners to bring their own supply of food and drinks to limit their exposure to other people.
